Costa Blanca

Costa Blanca is one of Spain’s most popular coastal areas with British visitors. It stretches for 100km (63miles) along the east coast, mainly in the Alicante province.

The northern part, known as the Marina Alta and Baja, has a dramatic backdrop of high mountains, such as the Montgo in Denia and Puig Campana in Finestrat. You will also discover some of the most impressive beaches in Spain along this coastline, ranging from large open white sandy beaches to beautiful hidden coves. Inland, green valleys contrast with the mountains, among which charming and Mediterranean picturesque villages emerge; including Tormos, Polop and others in the Jalon Valley with panoramic views of orange, lemon and almond groves.

The southern coast is largely flat plains behind long, sandy beaches. The main towns and villages include Altea, an attractive unspoilt village; Benitachell, a rural village; Calpe, with its famous Rock of Ifach, Denia, the capital of Marina Alta, with sandy beaches, spectacular rocky coves and colourful fiestas, Javea, a port known as the Pearls of the Costa Blanca and home to a huge expatriate community and Moraira, a luxurious tourist resort by the Mediterranean and Teulada.

The city of Alicante is the capital of the Costa Blanca and is a thriving and cosmopolitan city with exceptional amenities.

The Costa Blanca is one of the main international golf resorts all year long. It boasts golf courses designed by prestigious golfers, like Severiano Ballesteros and Jose Maria Olazabal.

Advantages of the area include a year-round pleasant climate, frequent flights to Alicante airport from Britain and attractive property prices. The area’s well-established expatriate community helps integration.
